Matt Davis

Massage

Matt is a licensed massage and bodywork therapist. He believes that a massage can help nourish the body, mind, and spirit connection, which can benefit by incorporating a healthy relationship with self-care.  Matt's focus is relieving the body of tension and pain while creating a safe and nurturing environment. Matt listens to the client and provides treatment based on what they are asking for and, more importantly, what their body is telling him.       Incorporating knowledge of musculoskeletal anatomy and myofascial release therapy, his massages often blend lotion and non-lotion techniques such as myofascial release massage, trigger point therapy, deep tissue massage, range of motion, cupping, percussion vibration, IASTM, and positional release techniques.         Matt was born and raised in Albuquerque, NM.  He attended Valley High School and the University of New Mexico.  After serving honorably in the United States Marine Corps, he returned to New Mexico to further his education.  After working successfully in construction equipment sales for many years, Matt entered a career as a public servant, going to work for the Bernalillo County Sheriff’s Department and the Rio Rancho Police Department.  After many years of law enforcement and a troubling shoulder injury, Matt turned his love of therapy for the body into a new career. His long-time love of various sports and athletics allows him to understand the body better and makes him a more knowledgeable therapist.             Matt received his formal massage therapist training from the New Mexico School of Massage in Albuquerque, NM. He also holds a Bachelor of Business Administration from the University of New Mexico and a Master of Science in Organizational Leadership from the University of San Diego.

Student Doctor Shelby Horan

Studied at Southern California University of Health and Sciences

Shelby was born and raised in Albuquerque, New Mexico, where she graduated from Sandia Prep in 2019. She grew up playing soccer, and it was through the sport that she was first introduced to chiropractic care as a teenager. After suffering a shoulder injury, Shelby used chiropractic care as part of her rehabilitation and was eventually able to return to being pain-free. This experience sparked her interest in chiropractic and ultimately inspired her to pursue it as a career.

Shelby graduated from San Diego State University in 2023 with a Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology. She began her chiropractic education at Southern California University of Health Sciences in the fall of 2023. During her time at SCUHS, she had the opportunity to be mentored by Dr. Christopherson, a well-known and respected chiropractor in Laguna Beach, California. This experience helped further develop her clinical skills and shaped her approach to patient care.

Shelby has received training in a variety of adjusting techniques, including pelvic blocking and Activator Methods, as well as several soft tissue modalities, including radial pulse shockwave therapy. She takes a patient-centered approach to care, with an emphasis on patient education and individualized treatment plans. Shelby believes that patients should understand what is happening with their bodies and feel empowered to take an active role in their recovery and overall health.

Shelby is excited to continue her education and expand her clinical knowledge under the guidance of Dr. Maestas. She is especially looking forward to the opportunity to bring her skills and passion for chiropractic back to her hometown and provide care to the community that she grew up in.
