Matt Davis

Massage

Matt is a licensed massage and bodywork therapist. He believes that a massage can help nourish the body, mind, and spirit connection, which can benefit by incorporating a healthy relationship with self-care.  Matt's focus is relieving the body of tension and pain while creating a safe and nurturing environment. Matt listens to the client and provides treatment based on what they are asking for and, more importantly, what their body is telling him.       Incorporating knowledge of musculoskeletal anatomy and myofascial release therapy, his massages often blend lotion and non-lotion techniques such as myofascial release massage, trigger point therapy, deep tissue massage, range of motion, cupping, percussion vibration, IASTM, and positional release techniques.         Matt was born and raised in Albuquerque, NM.  He attended Valley High School and the University of New Mexico.  After serving honorably in the United States Marine Corps, he returned to New Mexico to further his education.  After working successfully in construction equipment sales for many years, Matt entered a career as a public servant, going to work for the Bernalillo County Sheriff’s Department and the Rio Rancho Police Department.  After many years of law enforcement and a troubling shoulder injury, Matt turned his love of therapy for the body into a new career. His long-time love of various sports and athletics allows him to understand the body better and makes him a more knowledgeable therapist.             Matt received his formal massage therapist training from the New Mexico School of Massage in Albuquerque, NM. He also holds a Bachelor of Business Administration from the University of New Mexico and a Master of Science in Organizational Leadership from the University of San Diego.
